WHITELEG SHRIMP

Whiteleg shrimp or Penaeus vannemei shrimp is the most cultivated crustacean in the world, origin from the Pacific coast from Mexico to Peru. Is cultivated in the Americas and Asia, from extensive to hiperintensive farming. Cn harvested to commercial size in less that 90 days. Main countries with biggest productions are India, Ecuador and China. Productivity record are archived in 150TN per hectare.
